To Mr. H[illegible] from R.{Sir Henry Royce}[illegible] [Stamp: RECEIVED JAN 20 1933] [Handwritten: X116] E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}2/HP.18.1.33. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} re Peregrine Distributor Drive We send you herewith: LeC.3353 - showing a weir formed in the crankcase to raise the level of oil above the distributor drive gears to form an effective oil seal for the governor casing. This is an immediate alteration, and no more crankcases should be made without this feature. There is not time to get this tried on the car going on test in its proper form - nevertheless this can be tried out by fitting in a sheet metal weir fixed in some suitable manner, and we have already given RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} a free-hand sketch of this. E/JNH. | ||
