X. 4118 EFC8/T8.11.23. X.4273 - FAULTY COIL FROM 62-H-6. HARRISON. As a result of our EFC2/T2.11.23, BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} instructed verbally that the special investigation suggested in our last paragraph should be made. Although the coil was carefully taken to pieces layer by layer, no obvious trace of the secondary breakdown could be discovered, but only a slight charring in one place, which may have been the fault. This having been reported to BY, he has now sent us another coil 49-LK{L. King} which has also apparently failed in the same manner, and he is desirous that we should, if possible, unwind this coil turn by turn, in order to find the fault. This coil will be investigated in due course. EFC. | ||
