Re 10,000 Mile Trial Car. 12EM The Lucas Dynamo No.2994, which was fitted to the above car, commenced to squeak very badly, and it was found necessary to remove the belt in order to continue the run, and we have fitted another Dynamo. On examining the Dynamo removed we find that the commutator end ball bearing has failed, so that when the bearing is removed it is almost impossible to turn it with the fingers. The bearing does not appear to be dry or in any way lack lubrication, and it feels as if a ball had broken. We have not however, dismantled the bearing, as we thought it would be better to send the whole Dynamo complete to Messrs. Lucas for their examination and report. Will Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} please instruct for this. Mileage run by Dynamo - 7,011. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} NRC{N. R. Chandler} | ||
