To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews} K1020a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews}5/MH.{M. Huckerby}18.11.37. DENNIS BEARINGS. Will you please produce bearings in centrifugally cast AC.6 alloy to the attached drawing BV.128. Messrs. Dennis Bros. are to supply 8 connecting rods for us to fit bearings. We shall possibly require some main bearings in the above material, but are holding up the production of these until we have tested the Bentley engine to which these bearings are being fitted. We shall therefore issue instructions for the main bearings at a later date. Will you please let us know the actual setting and machining times and the material cost of the connecting rod bearings, ignoring burden costs as we wish to charge Dennis Bros. for this job at a policy price. It will also serve as a useful guide for future bearings should the occasion arise. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews} | ||
