Messrs. Dennis Bros. Ltd.,
Guildford,
Surrey.

18th. November 1937.

For the attention of Mr. J.Milne.

Dear Sirs,

With further reference to the Aluminium-tin bearings we are producing for you, we wish to advise you that the connecting rod bearings are now instructed and in process of manufacture. We have not yet received the Connecting Rods for this job but no doubt you will be despatching them to us as soon as they are available. We should suggest that you send the rods directly to these works, addressed to Experimental Dept. and marked for the writer's attention.

With regard to the main bearings we are holding this job up for the time being as we are now trying a new process of manufacture and are about to test them in a few days time, if this process shows advantages over the previous method we should prefer to supply you with them.

We should also like you to test the Connecting Rod bearings separately from the main bearings, you can then carry on with test of the connecting rod bearings as soon as supplied and test the main bearings later when we have the results of our own tests. Will you therefore, arrange to test the bearings separately, starting with the connecting rod bearings.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
