2. 4. Rear brake rod broken (This could have had serious results) 5. Front expansion box had loose baffle, silencer replaced. 6. Gear box failure - tooth stripped on gear. 7. Valve Lead broken, this dropped into the cyl at speed, smashing piston and doing further damage. At the time of the major failure the car was doing nothing more than the average Jaguar owner would expect to do with a car of this type. The car was with the makers just over 2 months repairing etc which does not speak very highly for the service. As a comparison we would like to quote the Oldsmobile with which we covered 15,000 miles. 4,243 miles of which were covered on the Continent at high speeds in all conditions. Twice the car visited Brooklands for speed tests, and a series of dyno curves were also taken. The only trouble experienced was sparking | ||
