HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} } FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} } Copy to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} re. "CHINA". ORIGINAL R2/M5.11.29. x5770. I believe that all you require to improve this has already been done for 'Japan'. For instance, a year ago we sent you a camshaft with long duration cams, and valve springs made stiffer for higher revs. The aluminium head has larger valves and passages, avoids going through the block, and gives good cold distribution and better exhaust. Perhaps we should alter this to C.I. The 'Japan' engine, if it has the parts intended for it, including carburetter increase, should do well on test, which we hope is now being done, if only for information. I have written several times that the 20HP. needs lighter air valve. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
