SECRET. TO EH. FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL COPY TO WF. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} MODIFIED BONNET, RADIATOR & DASH. 25.HP. Handwritten: x5260. x5250. x5500. x5-770. We send herewith N.Sch.2980. shewing a modified bonnet radiator and dash for the 25HP. chassis, on the lines which we have recently done for Phantom II. We wish this scheme to be applied to the chassis which is being made out of or to replace 14.G.4. On the scheme here- we indicate the standard radiator mounting, but it may be wished to use the new design which will be sent to you in a few days on N.Sch.2979. On this scheme the radiator is moved .875ins. further forward of the front axle. We do not think that small amount of increase in the bonnet length would call for any change in the angle of taper of the radiator from that drawn. At present we wish to keep the pot in the dash the same as standard and to merely increase the flange, so as to save the pattern, but in a short while we shall send you a new dash cast-ing in which advantage of the wider dashboard will have been made use of. Will Derby please send us two prints of this drawing, and also send a print to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} We will take the question up with Sales as to whether they will fit up a standard 25HP. chassis with this scheme to judge its appearance or whether they will wait until the new exple. car is ready which will be about three months hence, as a new body has to be built.
