Re: Lead Attack on Valves.(Stellite) Part of our work on this subject has been to determine the effect of temperature on the rate of the attack. The attached curve shows our results. At 600°C, there is no attack. At 700°C, it takes place and remains approximately constant up to 900°C. After that it rapidly increases. We think this is significant when considering the effect of B.M.E.P. on rate of attack. Swell - Have we any confirmation of this on Aero work? i.e. understand salt cooling no advantage Bm | ||
