Part of our work on this subject has been to determine the effect of temperature on the rate of the attack. The attached curve shows our results. At 600°C, there is no attack. At 700°C, it takes place and remains approximately constant up to 900°C. After that it rapidly increases. We think this is significant when considering the effect of B.M.E.P. on rate of attack.
