STANDARD KESTREL S ENGINE WITH GOSHAM I
SUPERCHARGER SPECIAL CATEGORY
TYPE TEST.

The special category type test of the standard Kestrel S. engine, fitted with Gosham I supercharger and carburetter, consisting of full throttle ground level endurance running, in accordance with memo: No. A/MS. 23.8.32, has now been completed.

These tests consisted of 1 hour endurance running at full throttle ground level at 2500 R.P.M. and 1 hour similar conditions at 3000 R.P.M. using special fuel, 80/70/16+4 cc (AV/Benz/Meth.) K17D Plugs and castor D.T.D. 71 oil, and open exhaust.

The following figures show the average readings at each speed:-

During the tests, no indications of blower slip or surging occurred and no trace of ignition trouble of any description was observed. The engine generally, running remarkably smooth and consistent.
