C. to LP.{Mr Lappin} STANDARD KESTREL S ENGINE WITH GOSHAM I SUPERCHARGER SPECIAL CATEGORY TYPE TEST. The special category type test of the standard Kestrel S. engine, fitted with Gosham I supercharger and carburetter, consisting of full throttle ground level endurance running, in accordance with memo: No. A/MS. 23.8.32, has now been completed. These tests consisted of 1 hour endurance running at full throttle ground level at 2500 R.P.M. and 1 hour similar conditions at 3000 R.P.M. using special fuel, 80/70/16+4 cc (AV/Benz/Meth.) K17D Plugs and castor D.T.D. 71 oil, and open exhaust. The following figures show the average readings at each speed:- R.P.M. B.H.P. PTS/HP/HR. Abs. Boost. In.Hg. Oil Pres. lbs/sq".in. Oil Temp. In. During the tests, no indications of blower slip or surging occurred and no trace of ignition trouble of any description was observed. The engine generally, running remarkably smooth and consistent. | ||
