Y 3498 EPC3/T1.11127. To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FERRANTI AMMETER FOR CHASSIS. Referring to Messrs. Ferranti's letter of the 22nd. ult., ref. Radio/G.R. (which we now return), we did not attach all that amount of importance to the error in the reading, as we felt sure there was some good reason for this. The instrument as submitted is rather too big and not of very suitable appearance, and I do not think it would be worth while running it on an experimental car. There is also the Question of the new style of instruments for the new instrument board. Altogether I think it is a question for BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} as to whether we should continue to negotiate with Messrs. Ferranti for an instrument in the style which is likely to be future standard. If such an instrument were obtained we should be Quite pleasedt to run it on one of the experimental cars, but we do not think there is much to be gained by running the present one thereon. EFC. | ||
