Dear Sirs,

We have now had your second quotation for "Walloy" brake drum liners.

We do not seem able to get a quotation in the form we want it, and would not be able to accept either of these two tenders. As the price per cwt. was obviously reasonable in the case of your first quotation this seems unfortunate and perhaps after all it would be advisable for us to see Mr. Wolstenholme to see if anything can be done. If Mr. Wolstenholme is still willing to come over here we would be glad to show him some composite drums to prove that our design is sound, and tentatively suggest Wednesday, 3rd. Feb. at 2-30 p.m. as a suitable time.

As regards the value of Young's Modulus, this is very important and in the event of us being able to agree on a price we would need two specimens 6" long x 1" dia. to enable us to determine it.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
