is a tendency for the brass valve seats to corrode in the aluminium and oxide consequently gets on the seats. We are trying castings in type metal.

Troubles that have not been overcome.

(A) Noise. Alterations in design are being considered to overcome this.

(B) Failures due to Zenith filter becoming partially obstructed. We may have to revert to a gauze filter now that the new carb. has not the fine annular orifice for a low speed jet. The A.C. filter has proved adequate from their service reports.

A.C. Petrol Pump.

Troubles that have been overcome.

(A) Vapour lock, as on the R.R. pump.

(B) Priming from a dry pipe line as on the R.R. pump, i.e. smaller pipe line and increased pump size.

Troubles outstanding.

Nil.
