X4087 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Hotel de France, Chateauroux, France. 12.2.33. From memos received this morning we assume that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will have left England. We are very interested in his reports re experiments carried out to the cooling of oil etc. We maintain however, that very little need be done as regards oil coolers, bottom halves, if the speed of the oil pump was reduced. We sent you, I hope, a fairly clear view of what is happening and what is really the cause of the high temperatures of oil. We shall be very pleased to demonstrate this to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} when he arrives. To-day we have been very busy on the Peregrine. We have had the gear box down but have not been able to trace where the oil is actually leaking from the front of the gear box. There are several other features on the car that we have tackled which we will send you a complete record of to-morrow. Re 19 EX. This car has resumed mileage to-day with a view of getting information of any failures. } x7941 GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} J H Hancock. | ||
