LONDON, N.W.2.

For the attention of Mr. C.W. Nichols.

Dear Sirs,

"Jackalls" - 21-G-IV.

The above car is now on its way back from France.

We understand from our Tester that further trouble has been experienced with the Jacking system. The nearside rear jack gland has apparently collapsed and oil flows freely down the centre sleeve, sufficiently to make the rear jacks useless. The jack was removed and the pipe line blanked off.

The offside front also started to leak before reaching the ground. The control was set to "Release" but without result, and release had to be effected by loosening the pipe unions and so allow the oil to escape. No doubt the release valve is faulty in some way.

However, we will report further when we have had a chance of inspecting the system.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
