To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. CJ. c. to RG.{Mr Rowledge} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SECRET X8500 R2/M7.1.25. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. STEPPED OR RECESSED DASH+ X.8500 Mr. Elliott has suggested this because there are certain difficulties with accessories on the bonnet side of the dash. I understand it would mean :- (1) Present length of bonnet retained, or longer. (2) Engine pushed as far forward as possible. (3) Pedals also passing into a pocket, or equivalent, thus :- (4) Scuttle would be relatively shorter. Kindly discuss this with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and find the advantages and disadvantages, and let me know. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
