Bailey - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} PN.{Mr Northey} OY. Expl. No. 3642 REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG1.9.23. OBJECT OF TEST. TESTER. In order to confirm Springfield practice. G.W.Hancock. CONDITIONS. Tested on 40/50 car - also tested on Test Bench for power. SUMMARY OF TEST. SWAN NECK CONNECTION ON REAR SILENCER. We can find no difference in power and no noticeable difference in noise at normal speeds when running full power; at maximum speeds full power the Springfield Pipe made slightly less noise. There is, however, a definite increase in noise when running light throttle and running on retard with the throttle shut. There is a hollow resonant sound. We should certainly get complaints if we used this pipe. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
