X7040. By C Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} PHANTOM II PISTONS With the introduction of extra cylinder lubrication, we should like to try increasing the dimensions of the piston on the load diameters with a view to increasing the life of the piston, particularly with regard to "cold knocks". We have been precluded from increasing this diameter hitherto owing to the danger of seizing when starting up - the supplementary lubrication will overcome this danger. If you agree, will you please instruct immediately for say 6 sets of pistons to be produced. Sketch attached to By's copy [STAMP] RECEIVED 29 DEC 1930 | ||
