Re: 35 EX. - - - - - As requested we have blocked up the oil holes at the valve end of the rockers, this has been done by blobbling them over with solder while in position, so as not to disturb the silent tappet mechanism. The job is satisfactory, but will require a day or two before an opinion can be arrived at. We have been sticking to the usual rule of pumping the bijur once every hundred miles but we find that this is far too excessive for ordinary London driving. It floods the various joints and bearings and tends to spoil the evidence which might show up a genuine leak. We suggest that we reduce this to a suitable figure, which we can find by trial. We have not yet received the new parts for the track rods, but will proceed with the modification as soon as they arrive. H.F. Hamilton. H.F. Hamilton. | ||
