35-EX.

I note that in the Daily Reports the oil consumption of 35-EX, which started at 1250 M.P.G., has now dropped to 680 M.P.G. on the daily run.

I also note that the total mileage run has increased from 157 the first day to 458 over the 2 days.

The object of the test of the present car is to get information on its running in and around London. If for any reason you find it necessary to change the conditions of test by going outside London, we should like to know under what conditions the car is run.

It should be borne in mind that the present test is being run to prove the clutch under London traffic conditions, and to see whether the car is free from overoiling in traffic work.

We have had a certain amount of trouble with one of our cars due to the silent tappets sticking when the car is left out all night. The eccentrics hold the valves open, which results in missing fire for some time after starting up. We should like you to make sure that your car is left out all night, and let us know whether similar trouble occurs.
