Hot E a def? ORIGINAL SECRET. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/L.Gl.{G. Linnett}4.24. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. ENGINE. Y9680 / X9550 With reference to E1/M14.3.24. You state that the only EAC. engine we have yet tried in a chassis was one that was designed to go in an under-frame. We should like to point out that the car which PN.{Mr Northey} ran in France, had the correct crankcase and engine fixing. The only variation from the LeC. design is that we retained the present tubular front cross member and added a pressed steel member to carry the front point of the engine mounting. With regard to the retard vibrations complained of, they were equally as bad on PN{Mr Northey}'s car as on the original car with the temporary engine mounting. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
