tus Experimental Dept. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 2/T. August 7th 1933. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley Esq., The Cadillac Motor Co, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Dear Oy, Are any of your people coming over for the Motor Show, to see how much we are behind America? If so, please let us know because we are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to repay you for some of the good things which have been done for our people by General Motors. Even if nothing else came of the visit, you would at least get the English automobile outlook which might help export. We have had quite a few aircraft people over, from Pratt & Whitneys, Curtiss Wright, etc., and we have much enjoyed entertaining them. I might come over to America immediately after the Show. We are having a bit of trouble with our hot stuff camshaft on the Bentley getting the timing gears quiet, and are in the process of going to Textolite, which I expect will give us endless trouble. Any hints on the treatment of this material will be, as always, greatly received. Do you find it necessary to grind Textolite gears? I have quite a number of wind tunnel tests taken on the Bentley which may interest you. Kind regards to Mrs Olley, & Everyone at Cadillac, Yours sincerely, | ||
