To Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} COPY EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T29.11.21. c. By c. By {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /WER. X.4338 - GOSHAWK ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FOR SIX CHASSIS MADE IN WORKS. LUCAS EQUIPMENT FOR THREE CHASSIS. Battery. It is intended that a P & R type BD. {Mr Berend} 7 battery be used, of which we already have two in the Elec. Expl. Laboratory. We have now also a P & R. {Sir Henry Royce} H.D.E.9 battery, and further batteries have been ordered. Starter Motor. Lucas 4½" dia. starter motor - all details already arranged with Lucas'. Starter Motor Switch. Switch type HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1 similar to sample recently submitted to us, which was approved. Ammeter. Standard Weston, as used on 40/50. Switchbox. Lucas switchbox similar to that of the 40/50 but with improved cutout and fuse system. It is understood that these can be taken from stock already received. Slight modifications will be required to the connections in the box, which we have ascertained will be readily carried out, and we can give the necessary instructions for these. The switchbox, as modified, will combine the functions of switchbox, distribution box, cutout and field fuse, all in one unit, so that no other distribution or junction box will be necessary (except the tail lamp junction box) which can be of R.R. design). This means that all the connections, for instance, dynamo, ammeter, head, side, tail, Klaxon, body lighting and ignition can all be taken from or to this box. Dynamo. This will be the Lucas E.5 R.R. (S.F.) type, similar to sample recently received, but with modifications to the terminals and perhaps a slight modification to the output curve, both of which items we are arranging with Lucas'.
