IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR. (Continued).

The following troubles were experienced in this order:-

1) Spindle seized in bearing - 2.500 miles.
2) Spring contact on rotor broken - 3.600 miles
3) Fibre block on contact breaker arm broken - 5.200 miles
4) Fibre block in replacement arm - 100 miles.
5) Replacement rotor cracked allowing sparking to earth, 4.000 miles.
6) Fibre block on contact breaker arm broken - 11.500 miles.

The distributor tower had considerable "wobble" at the end of the mileage.

WATER TEMPERATURE THERMOMETER.
with special non-sound transmitting capillary;

The capillary fractured at the soldered connection to the bulb in the cylinder head after 11.000 miles.
No noise was transmitted by the capillary.

FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH. LOP. GB.2100.
New, complete to the above LOP. incorporating:-
IO. A.6. Borg & Beck Ventilated Clutch with extra bearing area to lugs.
Modified facing and cross cushion plate with .045 cushioning supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth.

Slight jaggers were experienced when hot on occasions but the smoothness of engagement was as a rule good.

Very bad slip on engagement occurred after 11.000 miles. No further slip occurred after the drive was taken up. After slipping the clutch in this way a few times, no further slip was experienced for 2.500 miles when it was again experienced in the same way. It was attributed to oil on the facings.

The clutch usually freed readily, but after 12.000 miles it periodically would not free at all well for a time, and then recovered again. The pedal was set at the beginning of the mileage and was not subsequently adjusted.
