Fan LOP.E.85311.

Packed with Belmoline "C" Grease.

The Fan Bearings which were returned to the Works after 15,000 miles are not too good.

We consider that the annular clearance of the brass cage between the inner and outer race is too small, and does not allow for adequate lubrication.

Petrol Pipes and Fittings LOP.E.88832.

The unions at both ends of the Petrol Drain Pipes and Branch Pipe were loose, the solder having cracked. There are signs of the pipe having been resoldered in three places whilst on test.

Flywheel and Clutch LOP.G.85261.

Wider Facings, Cheaper Ventilated Clutch.

The general condition was satisfactory.

The Clutch Plate with Thermoid Linings was in good condition. The compressed thickness before test was .390 and after test varied between .365-.370, representing .020 to .025 wear. The "cushioning" remained unaltered at .005 and the Spring plates under the linings had not weakened. Slight picking up was noticed on the Linings off the Flywheel and Pressure Plate; slight cracks were discernible between inner and outer rivets in three places on the flexible side; cracks also appeared running from all the inner rivet holes to the inside edge of the same linings.

The friction load of the flexible centre had decreased from 24 lbs to 22 lbs at 10" radius.

The springs of the flexible centre had caused a certain amount of wear on the clutch spring retaining plates.

The pressure ring (Millenite) was in good condition, the face being flat and the wear negligible.

continued.
