+308 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/JH.25.2.36. Phantom III Carburetters. Will you please modify 2 downdraught carburettors to Lec.4933 for use on No.9 & No.11 units. In addition to the control modifications, the scheme calls for HR castings of the floatchamber cover and the throttle body. The main carburetter body is as supplied by the Zenith Co. and is unaltered. A carburetter handed to us for trial has been made up in the works to the above Lec.4933. Alterations to finalize this carburetter are stated in the memos. E/PSN.3/MN.20.2.36. & E.10/HP.20.2.36. as referring to the carburetter made up by the works. Included in the above memos, the following modifications have been issued up to the present. Fast Idle cam to Rs.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}179. Floatchamber cover modification in which the size of the overflow pipe banjo bolt is altered to Lec.5011. The drilling of the slow running holes is not the same as Zenith's, which upsets the slow running adjustment. We have 2 carburettors as received from the Zenith Co. now available for modifications, also the works produced carburetter for reference. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindell. | ||
