Re: CHASSIS B.179.BL - Mr. ARATHOON
---------------------------------

With reference to your telephone call to us this after-noon, we are sorry to learn that Mr. Arathoon has had trouble with the fan owing to the spindle of the adjusting device breaking.

We are however very pleased to hear that he had a good run to the South of France and that, apart from the above, the car is behaving O.K.

We have this evening dispatched to you a complete fan which should reach you to-morrow.

Mr. Hancock of Châteauroux, has informed us that the cause of the trouble is undoubtedly due to the fan being out of balance, and from what we can learn quite a few fans may have been fitted to cars in an unbalanced state. This is for your own in-formation.

At any time that you may have to dismantle a fan, you should check it for balance.

Mr. Hancock informs us that they balance the fans by drilling the pully in a convenient place. We will go into this matter with you when you return Rue Gide.

Please return the original fan to us.

Sr/VA.
