X7961 Bly.{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales}21/RW.29.6.34 S/W Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson} re Chassis No. B.46.AH. Geoffrey Summers, Esq., I am sending you herewith a copy of a letter received from the above concerning his Bentley. You will see that he starts off by saying how pleased he is with his new car. Since I received the letter, he called on me to discuss one or two points. He says that the troubles which he has experienced in connection with his car, his brother has also experinced. As you are well known to his brother you have doubtless heard of this already. With regard to the points enumerated, would you kindly let me have the following information:- 1. Can the new type of oil-drain in the engine sump be fitted to the chassis, and does it entail any great expense? 2. Do you think that a tubular stay, as suggested, between the head-lamp brackets would affect any cure. He remarked when in the showrooms yesterday that the head lamps practically touched the radiator when they vibrated. With regard to his suggestion that you are working on the problem, do you think that any modification could be of such a nature that it could be incorporated on this chassis? 3. Could you arrange for the bakelite cover and retaining screw to be sent direct and charged to him? 4. Would you let us know whether our scheme could be adapted to his chassis; i.e., when it is in production, and if it is likely to involve any great expense? 5, 6, 7 & 8. I am getting him to arrange for his car to be sent to Park Ward's when we will go into the question of coachwork, etc. I shall be glad to receive your reply on the above points as soon as possible.
