Torque Reaction Boss on Steering Box Mounting - Myth. PL.760, the original of which is attached to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy., shows a torque reaction boss added to the steering box mounting. This has been done at the suggestion of Burman & Sons, Ltd., as any movement of the box in its clamp would deflect the column and result in tightening of the thrust bearing at the top of the column. The only part affected is the aluminium alloy mounting bracket, to which an extra boss has been added. New parts required are the setscrew and spring washer and the pensteel adjusting washer which should be available in a range of thicknesses.
