Y4117 S/S - PH. C. to Wr. C. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to SP.{Mr Spinney} C. to N. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}5/W4.1.30. Chassis GXO-69. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Hutton, Esq. HN{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}4/WT3.1.30. Paragraph 2. It is not agreed that the 20/25HP. engines are any more difficult to adjust for steady slow running than in the case of the 20HP. We are of the opinion that the engine must be out of tune, either through want of correct tappet adjustment or through restriction in the petrol feed to the carburetter. Paragraph 3. We have, from time to time, had complaints of grit causing difficulty to the change gear mechanism on the 20HP. engine. To overcome this we make a special shield to the different type of body and according to the manner in which the body has been cut away to accommodate the change speed mechanism. Commencing at 'O' series, there was a shield fitted to the inside of the chassis, but it was still possible for the outside of the mechanism to be exposed to road dirt. Paragraph 4. We can supply a machine having a higher output, which would continue its high rate of charge up to approximately 35 miles an hour, at which speed it gives an output of 14 amps. This machine could be supplied at once. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
