We are sending out to you an insulated pot for the filter. Our experience here has been that we can stop vapour lock if we keep the filter cool. We naturally want to avoid moving the petrol pumps if we can. On the other hand, there must be no question that the trouble is cured.

Another point is the leak from the rear main bearing. Here again we think that we can do this job better in France than we can in England.

The top overoiling is another point where you can assist us.

The fourth feature is whether idling which is set under cold conditions is any good at all under hot conditions. My experience has been that even on the Phantom and 20/25 you cannot get any sort of idling when you have had a blind round the track, but this may be due to the partial gassing of the petrol in the float chamber. You can possibly confirm this.

We find that the petrol tank is terribly hot.

I attach a note from Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} re clutch and brakes.

As soon as we can get the correct road springs we are sending the fitter out to France to change them for you. At the same time he can examine the gearbox and see if he can improve the ease of change for you.
