Origin: To reduce wear. Experimental Test Report. On the previous 10,000 mile test on the Phantom, the radiator supporting spheres and bracket were badly worn. On 8-EX the spheres and bracket were case-hardened. After 10,000 miles there was no appreciable wear. Road Test Report. Run 10,000 miles on 8-EX. No appreciable wear at the finish of the test.
