H/a PN{Mr Northey}1/DN4.5.26. X8000 (crossed out) X8250 FROM PN{Mr Northey} TO WOR{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to HJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} & OWB (crossed out) Some action should be taken with a view to preventing unsatisfactory bonnet catches being fitted to the "B.2." Series of Phantoms. At the time the Standardisation Sheet was signed, I think I am right in remembering that the information indicated that these bonnet catches were found to be satisfactory on test and also on 11-EX up to 1,000 miles, but the whole time that this car was in my hands in France and Italy these new 20 HP catches gave no end of trouble, in fact, were quite ineffective. It may be that the trouble was due to some small easily remediable thing, such as stronger springs being required, but this is a matter I feel should be carefully looked into before production of these carries on any further.
