BUY 272 Agents Copy Rolls Royce FB/EHP.548470 WCD/RMM. 20th April, 1938. Messrs. High Duty Alloys Ltd., 83 Buckingham Avenue, Trading Estate, Slough. Dear Sirs, Attention of Mr. Devereux. We thank you very much for your letter of the 14th inst, and we are pleased to say that we have received from Mr. Wheeler of Rolls Royce their recommendations as to the mould for casting the Bristol Aero Co's bearing. We note that the material required is AC.9. and think that the best thing to do, under the present circumstances, is for you to supply us with the correct material for casting this bearing. If, therefore, you will let us have a small quantity to the specification which you have put forward as being desirable to be used in the manufacture of this bearing, we can then be quite sure that everything has been done to make a success of the job. We note, also, that you give the latest heat treatment as suggested by Rolls which we shall follow out and further we certainly will avail ourselves of your kind offer to examine the bearings in your Laboratory for analysis and structure, so that before despatch to Bristol we may be quite certain that everything has been done to ensure success. Yours faithfully, For WELLWORTHY PISTON RINGS LTD., Technical Manager. | ||
