November 9th. 1914.

Mr Chas. Bowen,
Vernon House, Friars Place Lane,
East Acton. London. W.

Dear Bowen,

I regret that Hives was away from the Works on Friday last and it was therefore impossible to get his signature to the reference that I forwarded you in time for you to receive the reference on Saturday, which I understood was the day you required it. I therefore signed the reference myself.

If you will kindly return this to me I will send you a duplicate signed by Mr Hives, which should be of more value to you.

Yours faithfully,
