With reference to your HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ1730 and the para. on page 2. in which you refer to the instrument board of 25-EX., we note that it is suggested that this car should be fitted with an instrument board to suit the latest USA. requirements.

We have already written to Derby informing them that R.{Sir Henry Royce} says that the instrument boards of the R.{Sir Henry Royce} and L.H. chassis should be alike and only handed. He wishes the framed patch of instruments which we now use to be abandoned. All the instruments are to have individual glasses and to be mounted in a piece of thick aluminium held in position by spring clamps, and possibly wing nuts. The wood of the instrument board is fitted round these instruments in any way the coachbuilder may please. On N. sch. 3106. we shew such a board.

You will have seen that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed to continue with the K.{Mr Kilner} S. petrol gauge more or less as at present. He has agreed to the use of the Seth Thomas electric clock to begin with, and wishes us to find an equivalent English electric clock.

In view of this we are inclined to think that an instrument board such as is shewn on N. sch. 3106. should be fitted to 25-EX.
