Ha/Smth.9/KW.1.5.36.

Bentley and 25/30 HP. Clutches.

G.W.H. has been investigating the cause of the clutch jaggers in B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}, and has found the pressure plate side of the driven disc and the inside of the clutch casing to be oily. The flywheel side of the disc is dry and the oil is thought to be Bijur oil. We think the oil is from the feed to be trunnion thrust bearing, and we are experimenting with a bearing fitted with an oilite cage and without external lubrication. In this position G.W.H. is going to cut off Bijur lubrication to the trunnion to check that the oil is coming from this source.

Meanwhile we suggest that we should fit a size ZTOO metering plug in the supply to the trunnion, instead of the ZTO we fit at present.

Ha/Smth.
