To PN.{Mr Northey} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BJ. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} X4228 X.4226 X.2766. R1/1227.8.23. With reference to your memo. PN{Mr Northey}13/DN23.8.23. sent to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} at WW. which arrived after he had left. I prefer carburetters set for best power in central position. Best dead slow running control 2 notches strong, best economy 3 notches weak. WARNING. Avoid relatively weak high speed jet and relatively strong low speed jet; bad for economy and also for impressions of power as a weak mixture burns too slowly for high speed; strong mixture at low speed means a dirty engine. Avoid weak setting of carburetter when engine fully warm. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
