Investigating complaints about rattling bonnets and proposing a design change using rubber strips.

Upon investigating these complaints I find that the reports issued by Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} are entirely misleading. Actually, during the last six months at Cricklewood there were not more than a dozen cars which had anything done to the bonnet panels. The chief trouble is the settling down of the Ferodo strips which allow the bonnet to rattle. The remedy is to wedge up the strips. It would appear that the Ferodo strips are not thick enough. Of course a better design would be to use rubber, but not like the Phantom lll which is wrong. It should be like this - BONNET RUBBER DASH Instructions should also be given to the coachbuilders to support the overhang of the bonnet with a rubber strip as we get the following result.
