Y4240 To Dr. - from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} " Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} - " " " Sft.{Mr Swift} - " " " EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} - " " Worl/MS/9/22. For your information I give below extract of memo I have this morning received from BJ:- " SHUTTERS TO GOSHAWKS. CJ. does not wish any Goshawks to be delivered to Sales until shutters have beenfitted in front of radiators. This matter was discussed fully at the conference with R.{Sir Henry Royce}, Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager},EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, CJ., and BJ. in London many weeks ago and it was then decided that shutters should be fitted of a temporary design until the permanent design was ready. CJ. considers that these shutters could be made at the Works or elsewhere quickly, and this would prevent any possibility of the Goshawk being mistaken for a 40/50, which it was understood by all concerned was the primary reason for fitting the shutters."
