-2- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.20.1.32. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} and cylinder pattern have been completed and all the parts are well advanced in machining. We are also beginning to see a few parts of the 'Peregrine'. The cylinder head casting is completed and a number of other details. We are hoping that before you get back we shall have completed and on the road J.3 and 'Peregrine' cars. We ought to have on test the easy change boxes similar to the 25 HP. on a Phantom ll in about a fortnight's time. This will be urgently wanted because now that we are actually in production with this type of gearbox for the 25 HP., buyers will expect an improved box on the big car. On the whole, I think the car position is very satisfactory, except that there are not enough buyers. The question of reducing the Works costs, is being actively tackled, and I am confident that there will be a definite reduction before long. We expect to have the new single carburetter for the Phantom ll on test in about a week or ten days. Mr. Swift from the Works and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} sailed for U.S.A. lastweek for the purpose of seeing the latest methods and development out there. I hold the view, both from a production point of view and development, it is well worth while to go round other makers factories periodically. I am sure we can rely on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} collecting the maximum amount of useful information. I wish to thank you for your kind wishes, and hope that both Miss Austin and yourself are feeling the advantage of the change and that you are having plenty of sunshine. Yours sincerely, | ||
