In reply to your memorandum I find that the front seats are 39" wide and the rear seats 37" wide, both measured at about the centre of the seat.

Mr Spinney points out that he believes Mr Royce's idea of the L-E car is that the front seats are intended for the owner (driver) and his friends, and that the rear seats are only intended for game keepers etc., guns and luggage.

Mr Spinney thinks you are of the opinion that the L-E type is a 4-seated open touring car, and he thinks that it can hardly be described in this way and is not really suitable for such a purpose.
