X4244 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Mr Shelton. c. Ms. GOSHAWK II. FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH. E.50005. RECEIVED FO -BYY-P20.9.31. You will remember that originally the flywheel was specified as mild steel, but later when Mr Royce decided to add a starting ring on the flywheel itself, it was arranged that the flywheel should be made of cast iron. We did not alter the material at the time, as Mr Royce also suggested a second reinforcement ring, and my opinion at the time was, that if the three pieces were to be made it would be a cheaper job to produce a flywheel as a forging. The second reinforcement in mild steel has never been arranged for - I am therefore specifying the flywheel as cast iron. If you have any objections to this will you kindly let me know. BY.{R.W.
