PHANTOM III

1. Oil Coolers

It was decided that these should be deleted at the point of introduction of the overdrive gearbox, i.e. 86th in "D" series. The test at Brooklands to confirm finally this change will take place within a month from date according to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} No cars to be delivered until a satisfactory test is completed.

2. Battery Charging

A delay was reported for supplies of 48-watt bulbs, and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will watch and urge supplies of these. Meantime the new regulator is being introduced at the 101st chassis in "D" series. An improved dynamo is also under test.

3. Modified Crankshaft - see next paragraph "Cost Reductions".

4. Cost Reductions

A lengthy discussion took place under this heading concerning the nature of the mods.which effect a £30. reduction per chassis,which amount includes the saving effected by the modified crankshaft. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} raised the question of the gearbox - a very expensive item £96. compared with £44. for a Bentley box overdrive type - and pointed out that he was not making the same box as tested.
