X.3031 Re Magnalium.

In consequence of the high specific gravity, I would not take it without further proof that the magnalium you have got hold of is proper Magnalium, because I have a definite [handwritten: genuine] impression that Magnalium is as light, or lighter, than pure aluminium. It is an excellent machining alloy, but I have not seen or heard of any experience of it as a [handwritten: good] casting alloy.
Should it be an (1) extra light alloy, having (2) good casting properties and (3) standing a good Upton-Lewis test, we should continue to be interested in it. Otherwise, if it fails in any one of these three requirements, we should let the matter drop.
