Dear Oy.,

I cabled you yesterday -

"POSTPONE ORDER FOR BUICK WRITING".

After your cable in which you said -

"GENERAL MOTORS EXPORT LONDON WILL SEE YOU ABOUT BUICK"

I got somebody at Conduit Street to go down there and make enquiries and they said no Buicks would be in London until after the Motor Show. I therefore concluded that you had been unable to do anything about the car as I had previously heard nothing from you.

I was therefore somewhat surprised on the 5th July to receive a letter from Messrs. Lendrum & Hartman, enclosing a copy of a letter from the General Motors Export Co., a copy of both being attached. As I had previously written to Mr. Hartman and said we had not decided to buy one of these cars in view of my information received from General Motors Export, he naturally thought there was something peculiar about the situation.

Actually the position is -

(1) Rolls-Royce are not quite ready to buy the car as we have not finished with either the Terraplane or the Graham-Paige which I brought over.
