Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge receipt of your letters of the 8th and 9th April with reference to modifications to the specification of Bentley 'A' type stabilisers which we are supplying to you. We note from the first mentioned letter that you are agreeable to accept mild steel end studs and that you will arrange for distance pieces in order that we may use the simplified silent-bloc bushes for the first 40 bumpers. Also in your letter of the 9th we note that you are arranging to make these distance pieces yourselves. We cannot agree to your suggested reduction of 2/2d. per bumper in connection with the non-supply of the distance pieces only, but taking all the modifications mentioned in both your letters collectively we would suggest that the price be reduced by 2/3d. which, according to our costs, is a reasonable figure and represents the ultimate saving which we shall make.
