To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} } X1391 E.7/HP.18.11.32 Stamp: RECEIVED NOV re Peregrine Bottom Half and Side Guards. With regard to the side guards fitted on to No.3. Peregrine, we think these will require modification to allow the oil strainer and oil drain plug to be withdrawn. They will also require reconsideration in connection with the use of the lower half we have designed for more oil cooling and greater oil capacity. This sump is fitted with cooling ribs, and to get the requisite flow of air around the sump we shall probably have to shorten the front pan. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
