Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Date 31. 12. 26. Page 2 masks which were done here, too many figures were put on the scale, and gave it the appearance of being difficult to read. To illustrate the sort of scale that we could provide for your 20 gallon model tank, we are enclosing a hand written mask of the type that we would propose to use for this particular car. We think you will agree that this is a much more sightly, and the arrangement much better than that which you have now, in addition to the fact that the calibrations would be accurate and the tank unit correctly placed in the tank. We are also sending you an American mask, which is as they appear in production, once the calibration of a series of tanks is established. These are being done here by a lithographic process, but you will of course realise that it does not pay us to lithograph single trial installations before we have arrived at a definite standard, so that this one must of necessity be hand done. We can arrange black or nickel plated finish for the bezel of the instrument, and we are sending you in the same parcel a sample of our standard bezel. Anything special | ||
