On test results finding K.E.965 austenitic steel a satisfactory alternative for silchrome in valves.

X1474 As far as our tests have gone up to date, we can say that from results in the engine that K.E.965 austenitic steel appears to be a satisfactory al ternative for the present sil chrome. The tests are being continued with valves made of a reduced section. Also bars of this material are being obtained in order that forgings can be produced in ou r own Works.
